BIO:
Sparks is Spike and Rarity’s first foal and son. Half dragon from his father’s side and half pony from his mother’s.
When he was a foal, he came with his Mom to Canterlot. While there, he watched the Royal Guards and could only think of how cool they looked. He actually asked his Mom to make a custom-made armor. But the best she could do was make a costume. He loved it all the same even though it wasn’t real armor.
Since then, he started drawing pictures of himself in all sorts of armor. Then he traveled with his Dad to the Dragon Lands so he could learn more about dragons. It was there he met a middle-aged dragon blacksmith named Ironclad. Ember wanted to discuss something inprivate with Spike and assured him that Sparkscale would be safe with Ironclad. He assisted Ironclad in making a new pair of armor. After Ironclad gave him tips about how to effectively use his dragon fire, Sparkscale managed to use his fire to make a fine breastplate. It was then, Spike came back and was shocked to see a new Cutie Mark on his son’s flank. Till now, he wasn’t even sure if his children would ever get a Cutie Mark given that they were only half pony.

Now Sparkscale works as a blacksmith for the Royal Friendship Guard. He also makes custom-made armor for those in the Guard. And near his forge, the armor costume his Mom made for him as a colt sat on display with a sign that says, “Don’t even think of touching it!”

Cutiemark/Talents:
A dragon scale-like shield with a flame at the center.
It represents Sparks’ talent for forging weapons and armor with his dragon fire. He’s also no slouch in a fight. It’s dragon-like aspect is a representation of his pride as a dragon halfling.
And the stronger the flame is, the stronger the armor and weapons.

Personality:
Sparkscale is a protective stallion in general. Protective of his family, friends, and his stuff. He’s also a hothead, walk the line and he lets you know it and won’t take any nonsense. Someponies tells him to chill because of this, but he would just respond, “Then how would they learn!?” And he takes pride for being half dragon as shown by his Cutiemark. And like Rarity, he tends to put extra detail into his custom armor even and sometimes without the consent of the pony or other species he’s making it for.

Relationships:
He loves his mother, Rarity. He loves the word candy she gives him, calling him handsome and talented. In other words… He’s a total Mama’s Colt!

With Emerald Blaze, his younger sister, they had a typical sibling relationship as foals. She would snoop and take his stuff without asking while he would tattle on her and pull pranks on her for payback. Nowadays, their relationship is better, though Emerald thinks that Sparkscale needs more maturing.

One of his two best friends is Bryer Shade. The two were able to connect through the fact that they were both half-breed ponies. It also helps that Bryer takes Sparkscale’s anger issues in stride. And Sparkscale can appreciate Bryer’s dark humor.

One of his other two best friends is Star Shield. They were practically raise together and are like brothers as well as brothers in arms as they’re both part of the Royal Friendship Guard.
