Sparkler does not have a cutie mark yet, and she is teased by meaner fillies at the school house. She is an honorary Cutie Mark Crusader, the group having grown after the original members toured Equestria, giving talks about bullying and finding a cutie mark.
Sparks is the second filly to be born to Twilight and Flash, and is the only unicorn (currently) in her immediate family. She is more like her father, as she dreams of one day becoming Captain of the Royal Guard, just like her Uncle Shining was. Sparks also loves the Crystal Empire, and how beautiful the ponies look (she is also jealous of how her cousins maintain their crystal look wherever they go). She has many friends in Ponyville, mainly her fellow Crusaders, and was the first foal to even talk to Scarlett Spell, when Scarlett and her mother, Sunset Shimmer, moved to Ponyville.
Sparkler is waaaaaayyyyyy into magic, and she practices almost everyday. She also loves pyrotechnics and fireworks, and she cannot wait until she gets her cutie mark “in fire and sparks and BOOM! CRASH! BANG!!!” She is slightly hyperactive, especially after eating candy, so Twi and Flash made a no candy rule, except for on Nightmare Night. Sparkler considers their strict monitoring of her sugar intake as a dictatorship, which causes most of her friends’ older siblings to laugh.
Even though she studies magic all the freaking time, Sparks has yet to master a ridiculously easy compass spell, and she herself has a terrible sense of direction. She gets lost very easily, and having a map only decreases the possibility of her getting lost to about a 25% chance. She also can sometimes have a tendency to come across as annoying when she first meets ponies, as she kinda babbles on in her excitement.
Many ponies think that Sparks and Scarlet would not get along, as they do not know that Twi and Sunset became friends after Sunset apologized and made up. However, Sparks extended a hoof in kindness after Scarlett was ignored by everypony (they knew about her mother’s history…). They are great friends, and often go on their own crusades.
Sparkler and Harmony have a strained relationship, as Sparks feels unloved by her older sister. She feels like Harmony prioritizes her studies and friends over the happenings of Sparks, and does not care about her. Sparkler literally had no friends for a time, until Twilight became extremely worried and dropped her off at the CMC clubhouse. She and Harmony still don’t get along very well, but Harmony is doing her best to patch the relationship up.
