Original Description:
A young Ginger Peach, the unpopular and rejected foal of a Cloudsdale pegasus mare and a Canterlot Unicorn stallion, recently melanated from her failed coup of Canterlot which led to her imprisonment in Tartarus.
Other images priviously posted where she has longer body proportions depict her many years after she escaped from Tartarus - many ponies in her family experience a similar ‘filling out’ as they mature. Some early images depict the more foal-like proportions, but these are not as good as this one. In fact, this is kind of a redraw of a variety of my early drawings of Ginger Peach.
So, basically, she goes from looking like this for most of her young adult life to being built like Fleur de Lis as she becomes a mature mare.
Visually, it represents her bittersweet transformation from an arrogant outsider to a member of society - the exchange of cuteness, vitality and youth for beauty, discipline and wisdom. Was honor and respect worth the cost? But this symbolism is post-hoc - rather than being inspired by Twilight’s change during the finale, this is because I liked Fleur de Lis’s design, but I also like the standard mare design.
