Original Description:
A lot was written here. Go ahead and skip it if needed and enjoy the picture. Just know that Pinkamena is another favorite of mine so I drew her.
Diane is another favorite of mine (I know she’s called Pinkamena, but I like calling her Diane personally. Been doing it for years). Pinkie, the happy go lucky extroverted party pony brings cheer and joy to literally anyone she meets, upholding the highest amount of positivity out of the Mane 6. Making others laugh and bringing smiles to everyone. That said, she is the least favorite of mine out of the 6 for those reasons. I’m completely her polar opposite, kinda like Maud, where I don’t talk a lot or hang with a lot of people. Do not get me wrong, a character like Pinkie is needed to keep her friends upbeat, close, and filled with positivity as much as possible and shows the best example on how to be cheerful around others, despite how she gets out of hand (hoof) sometimes. When the episode ‘Party of One’ aired near the end of season 1 was where I really took a liking to Pinkamena Diane Pie, her real name and sorrowful personality that she keeps hidden due to her past of working at a rock farm with her family where boredom reigned and joy was absent. This episode was actually liked by many at the time as it shows how she felt lonely because no one remembered her birthday and it triggered her past life of feeling lonely in that present moment, eventually letting her hair go from poof to straight. She slowly descended into sorrow and insanity near the episode’s end to the point where she made friends with inanimate objects. Thankfully her friends quickly brought her back to her senses after telling her that they were planning a surprise party, something she wasn’t used to, then her hair went all poof again, later episodes showed her past reflection of her hair going down again, but not to the point of insanity. Just calm sadness. I watched this episode several times cause I liked it that much. It shows a young emotional girl driven to insanity due to both her sad past and birthday misunderstanding that invigorated that past reflection. We all have our dark or sad past times in small or big ways that we never want to return to.
However, Diane is still a big favorite of mine. I remember uuhhh “Cupcakes”, I won’t go into that, but the concept is interesting. I love it when her hair is down when like this and yes…how insane she can get when like that. She possesses a darker attitude over her positive one and I love the ways that artist out there have displayed it well over the years. Making her emo, goth, punk, insane, or just cruel in general. A big favorite of mine is how some artist compared her downfall towards insanity to Alice from the game Alice: Madness Returns, a very high favorite psychological horror game of mine where they drew her as Alice in human, anthro, and pony form to fit the atmosphere. Another older pic someone drew sometime after the episode aired was where both Pinkie and Diane were on the opposite side of each other, each in their bedrooms. Pinkie’s side was clean, organized, and bright. Diane’s was dark, messy, bloody, and creepy. Diane then breaks the fourth wall and grabs Pinkie and pulls her into her dark reality, trapping her in it while she went to her bright reality. Diane in this dark state is absolutely perfect for 4th wall breaking stuff which means you don’t know what she’ll do to anyone.
I wish I could find them, but years ago I drew two pictures of Diane. One was a bad end which showcased her getting a hold of one of Twilight’s shrink potions, she modified it also into a ghost-like potion, and tricked her friends into drinking it which turned them into ghostly corporeal forms before they could do their surprise party on her. The inspiration was taken from Cupcakes, but instead she goes full insanity on them and tells them that they’ll never leave her sight ever again by trapping them inside of her mind forever. She sucks them all in her mouth and absorbs them inside of her brain, forcing them to live forever inside the insane dark world she created for them inside her head where her mind’s influence made them all go insane just like her. The other picture was a continuation with her friends still trapped in her mind, but instead she goes out to grab guest for her party. I drew her running up to three buff stallions, all much taller than she is. She grabs and wraps her arms around all three with great strength and carries them all to her bedroom, forcing them to party with the insane girl and have some “fun” with her (sex). They never left her room as she had them locked in for whenever she wanted to party with her. Pinkie was still a teen during that time and was the youngest out of all of them if I’m not mistaken, I believe I am. despite Faust saying that they’re all adults. That assumption came from some theories back during the season 1/2 era.
Dun.
