Once in an interview, one of the character designers of the MLP franchise said: that even the most sinister monster, if painted in bright colors, is not as scary as if painted in dark shades. Agree, a colored bugbear or a parasprite is much nicer than if it were the color of dead grass or caked blood, as in Fallout:Equestria.
