Rainbow “Lesbianism” Dash…
 
Quick Notes:  
Married to Gilda, they have one son: Heathcliff (named after one of Rainbow’s favourite literary assholes)  
Served a short service in the Wonderbolts before dropping out for a multitude of reasons, the main ones being the toxic work environment, their refusal to integrate with other species, and the fact her eyesight was beginning to fail. The last one was the most important to the Wonderbolts who refused to accommodate her with prescription goggles. The reasoning for that is the Wonderbolts were meant to represent the “peak of pegasi performance”, if news got out they had a pegasus who was less than 100% physically fit in their ranks it could mean disaster for their reputation.  
Big nerd, still loves ALL the Daring Do books. Still argues with Quibble, who she loves (in the most platonic of ways) but who also drives her crazy. Just don’t read the new books if you don’t like them nerd boy!! Rainbow swears every time she meets up with him he has a million complaints about the newest Daring Do installment, which he spends the next hour listing out before throwing up his hooves and proclaiming this is the LAST book he’ll be reading from the series, which has LONG since jumped the shark. Only for the cycle to repeat with the release of the next book. Rainbow can see the flaws he’s pointing out, but hey, they’re books for foals! She’s just here to have fun.  
After quitting the ‘bolts, she writes a fairly successful series of epic fantasy novels, semi-inspired by her adventures with the mane six. She starts writing it when she begins to recount the stories to Gilda and, later, her son. They probably have their own little self insert cameo characters, RD would do some nerdy shit like that.  
Mega lesbian. Stereotypical lesbian. listens to Tegan and Sara on the bus. Short hair. Vaguely Alison Bechdel-esque. Rainbow Dash has been co-opted by the gay community and she’s really happy about it.
 
Some stuff I drew awhile ago of my favourite blue pegasus! If it isn’t clear already, I’m leaning more into Rainbow Dash’s nerdy side rather than her sporty side…which was explored extensively in the show. y’all know I love to mess with stuff I haven’t seen before if I can help it! it’s more fun and there’s less completion  
i still wanna redesign her cutie mark a little bit but eh..I drew both of these like two months ago and posted them on my patreon a little after that…figured I’d put em here and force myself to come up with a few NOTES.
