Hey folks CitizenWolf here and welcome to my very first public release model for Blender!

As several people have expressed an interest in this model, I have decided to go right ahead release it for anybody to use completely for free.

This is one of the models that I made by myself specifically for my second MLP piece while practicing how to use the modelling capabilities of Blender.

While it is not perfect, it has turned out a lot better than I thought it would so I’m perfectly happy to release it publicly so people can use it in their own artworks.

There isn’t a great deal of models that cater to this specific niche so hopefully this model goes at least part of the way to fill that particular void so to speak. I designed it so its parts can be individually customised with any colour palette/texture of your choosing, and the rings on the collar can be rotated so the collar in order be used in tandem with chains, leashes, ropes or whatever ligature device that takes your fancy 😊

I consider this a BETA of sorts, it’s not a perfect model but if I have done my job right it should be fairly easy and fun to use.

Any feedback/suggestions are very much welcome as I’m still a very much a beginner at modelling/artwork in general.

FAQ:
Free eh…. what’s the catch?
No catch, you are free to use the model in your own artworks, All I ask is that you credit my work 😊

This model is too large/small for my needs?
With this being a native Blender model, it can be scaled up and down to size as you require, just use the Scale “S” shortcut on your keyboard and select the size you need. Assuming you wish to attach to an NexGen model, you don’t need to scale on Individual axis to fit (but the option is still there if you want it)

How do I attach this collar to my Pony Model?
Probably the easiest method is to use an Object constraint modifier and constrain the collar to the neck of your model, which allows the model to be moved in Pose mode. It’s not perfect however and clipping is possible if you apply too much rotation on the neck so please bear that in mind.

Can I use this model in SFM? (Source film-maker)
Unfortunately, I do not currently know how to convert models from Blender to run in SFM. However you are more than welcome to download the blend file and perform your own conversion, the more the merrier! I have received a few offers to run conversions for me, but I cannot give a timeframe as to when (or if) these offers will bear fruit.

Why are all the parts parented in this way?
I have designed this model in such a way in order to make it as easy to use as possible while still retaining customisability such as allowing one to choose different colours for each part and allowing for all of the rings to be rotated into any desired position. All you have to do is grab the main body of the collar and all the attached parts will move in tandem with it. Then once in position you can (optionally) rotate the rings to where you want them. For the rings on the left and right hand sides I strongly recommend rotating along them along the local axis so they rotate within their anchor correctly.

Will you be releasing any further models in the future?
If people really like this one, I shall consider making and releasing more models in the future, thankyou for your support! Once again please feel free to leave any feedback/comments for improvements.
