It’s a warm Friday afternoon, and the Canterlot High girls’ soccer team has a big match against Crystal Prep today. However, the kickoff has been greatly delayed thanks to CHS’ team captain, Rainbow Dash, going into a panic over her missing ‘lucky sock’, much to the annoyance of both teams, who are still waiting on the field for her arrival. A few of Dash’s teammates have tried convincing her that there’s no such thing as luck and that she should just play without that particular sock, but the rainbow-haired athlete remains convinced that they’re gonna lose without the ‘extra luck’ and opts to sit herself down on a bench in a state of dismay, her right sneaker laying right beside her. Although the other players decide to just give up and head off to convince the referee to let them start without Dash, CHS’ goalkeeper (a girl by the name of Silver Cleats) decided to use some skills she learned in psychology class to help both parties. Approaching her team captain with a gold pocket watch in hand, Silver Cleats says that she can hypnotize Dash into being comfortable playing without her lucky sock. Although she has some doubts that she can actually be hypnotized, the blue-skinned teen nonetheless agrees to go through with the procedure and soon begins to focus her eyes on the watch, which Silver has already begun to swing before her eyes. After a quick 11-minute induction, Dash has blissfully fallen under her teammate’s hypnotic control, her mind completely open to any commands and suggestions. However, rather than going with the conditioning she had initially promised, Silver Cleats decides to take it a step further and tells Dash that when she wakes up, she will feel compelled to forgo her sneakers & socks and play the game completely barefoot. Once the hypnotized Dash agrees to this programming, Silver stuffs the watch into the pocket of her shorts and snaps her fingers to awaken her team’s captain from her trance…..
 
Once Dash has fully snapped back to reality, Silver asks her how she feels about her lucky sock now, to which the rainbow-haired girl enthusiastically replies by saying that, not only does she feel she can play without the sock, she also feels like she can play without any footwear at all before kicking off her remaining sneaker and pulling off her remaining sock, both of which she promptly tosses into a nearby trashcan. Now in her bare feet, Dash quickly runs off towards the field, calling out to her team that she’s ready to play. As she does this, Silver Cleats (during her walk back to the goalposts) can’t help but feel that she’s done Dash a favor and even starts considering hypnotizing the rest of her team into going barefoot for their next game….
