Mulberry kicks the door shut and escapes from the corner darkness. She then bounds down the stairs, almost tripping. When she gets to the bottom she pulls the door open. Out of the corner of her eye she sees a piece of paper on the door that definitely wasn’t there before.
 
She rips the note off the door and let’s the door slam shut behind her as she runs. She doesn’t stop until she has to collect her breath, and she swings her head around to see if anything followed her.
 
Luckily she seems to be alone, and then suddenly remembering the disc-headed monster she ducks down low and looks around. Spotting a stump she climbs behind it and wipes the sweat from her forehead.
 
She then remembers the piece of paper, and reads it.
 
“The Mayor wants the bugs out tonight looking for a mare that came into town. Catch her alive if you can.”
