As the hoof steps get closer she spots the darkness, and realizing it’s the only place to hide she takes several swipes at the corner, and feeling nothing hops in.
At first she sees a large, round head, followed by large, searching eyes, then wiry, greasy hair and flailing tentacles, and then finally a piscine-like body.
Mulberry starts to feel faint looking at the creature, and her body wants to shut her eyes and whimper. She does her best to prevent this by only looking at the thing with her peripheral vision. It paces around the upstairs room, stops briefly, walks down the stairs. She can hear it walking around, hears it stop again, and then leaves, shutting the door behind it.
She let’s out a sigh of relief, and leans back against the corner of the room. She feels something poke her back, and turning around she feels what appears to be a doorknob.
