Description:
Mulberry opens up the locket with the glowing bead in it and looks around.
Despite the brightness of the light source, she notices that it doesn’t seem to pierce too much of the darkness. She searches the roof just in case, and she can’t see much up there either, even though the roof isn’t that far above her.
She looks and listens as hard as she can, but there doesn’t seem to be anything in here. She then takes a few steps towards the darkness, illuminating a small area around her. The blackness is oppressive, and she starts to feel the same as she did when she walked around the fog outside of town.
As she makes her way along she suddenly feels a crunch below her hoof, and looks down. There are odd, hard, oblong objects on the floor. Mulberry picks one up to look at it, but just as she does she turns quickly.
She isn’t sure what made her turn. Certainly she didn’t see or feel anything. Nor did she hear something. She just got a feeling of pure dread despair that grabbed her attention, and now wouldn’t let go.
As she stares into the blackness she starts to back towards the door to the barn. Something then swiftly comes from the darkness and comes briefly illuminated before Mulberry flees in terror and out the door.
Taking some steadying breathes, she tries to comprehend what she saw.
It was a deathly white, stalky…. Thing with buds all over it’s body. It had multiple, sharp, waving insect-like appendages and what seemed like compound eyes on the buds of it’s body.
She shakes her head again, and then realizes she is still holding onto the oblong object. It almost looks like… A seed?
