Description

The sun sets over the fields of Burnt Oak’s home, covering everything it touches in a soft, orange glow.
Resting against a tree, sits Burnt Oak himself, and his girlfriend, Coloratura.
Coloratura was a few months pregnant, tired from all the work that comes with creating life itself.
Burnt oak, rested his head on Coloratura’s belly, feeling the child kick around.
Oh how wonderful this foal would grow up to be, he thought.

Coloratura chuckled softly. “You hear them dear?”
Burnt Oak smiled. “Oh yes I do darlin, it makes me overjoyed.”

Coloratura sighed happily, before her smile down turned slowly.

“Love…?” Coloratura uttered.

Burnt oak looked into his girlfriend’s eyes.

“Hm?”

Silence filled the air for a moment.

“I’ve been through so much these past 2 years… and…
You’ve been there for me…”

Rara exclaims, looking down at her stomach.

“And now… You’ll be here… For this foal.”

Burnt Oak gets off of the ground, standing up in front of the singer.

“Rara… No matter what, I will always, stay by your side.
You found me during one of the most lonely times in my life,
loved me, laughed with me, sang with me…”

“Oakey…”
Rara interrupted.

“And… I… Really thank you for that. You… Are the rythm to the song that carries me along my love.”
Burnt oak professed.

Rara, with urgent determination, tries to pull herself up.

“Rara?” said Burnt Oak, helping her up.

Rara suddenly hugs Burnt Oak, holding him in her embrace for a moment.
They enjoy the moment together, Rara stroking a hoof through her boyfriend’s mane.

“That’s beautiful….”
Rara sighed.
“Really beautiful.”
