Skysparkle has given her son just about everything money can buy. Conversely, she has always made him share her generosity with others. Endearment has been surrounded with riches – but he is not spoiled. On the contrary, he looks up to his mother as his best friend. In turn, he acts as a father – or big brother – who wants to be his subjects’ best friend.
Endearment co-rules with his mother, but his crown doesn’t actually come from hers. Rather, it comes from his cousin – Princess Teatime. Over 400 years ago, Skysparkle’s sister, Stellanova, tried to get rid of her. Stellanova became jealous of Skysparkle’s popularity, and she wanted to seize all of the affection (and power) for herself. Stellanova almost succeeded, but Endearment and Teatime helped Skysparkle defend herself. Stellanova wanted to blast Skysparkle into outer space. Instead, Stellanova received that fate.
Stellanova was Teatime’s mother. Teatime secretly navigated the rocket to let her mother land on the moon, with the faint hope of letting her mother survive there as a prisoner. Even so, her mother is presumed to be dead. Teatime is convinced she did the right thing. Even so, she felt kind of guilty inheriting her mother’s crown. Moreover, she wanted her cousin Endearment to be a full part of the team. He has always been like a big brother to her. Therefore, she shared her crown with him. The two cousins have co-ruled with Skysparkle ever since.
Endearment is perfectly capable of taking care of himself. Even so, he has the heart of a small boy. To some extent, he is emotionally dependent on his mother. He often feels obligated to obey her, but this is usually easy for him to do. She wants to be a true friend for him, and he tends to treat her as he wants to be treated as a ruler. His mother approves almost everything he wants – as long as he acts as a good friend. Even the angriest conflicts between them would quickly end with each of them longing for the other’s company again.
Although he loves living under his mother’s care, Endearment is a perfectly capable father. He has raised multiple families. Unfortunately, he has outlived each one. His last family died off many years ago. Right now, he is happy just to enjoy his mother, his cousin, his descendants, and the friends to make with his subjects.
