Minty was born on board of a vessel that headed towards Trottingham on the Griffish Isles. Her parents had left their war-ridden home in Horspaña to find a more safe spot in the reaches of Equestria.  
But not even Trottingham proved to be untouchable, when one day, the evil General Cattlelana attacked the city and destroyed the sea-side of it with the fire of her cannons. Minty’s parents unfortunately didn’t survive that day, Minty got saved and found a new home in Madame Bellarossa’s orphanage.
 
When she got seven years old, she became friends with a street musician and joined him when he went away to play on folklore festivals. The rest is history.
 
Minty is a pony that lives for her passions. When she’s playing her music or learns some language, her usually calm and melancholic demeanor disappears and she glees with fire.  
Her two biggest obsession are sound and the land of Horspaña, the land of her parents. She has the dream of living there some day.  
Grown up in the narrow alleyways of Trottingham, Minty is street-wise and quick-witted. She’s very modest and frugal in personal, but rather perfectionistic with her work. These two diverging interests make it hard for her to find a position where everyone’s happy.  
That’s also why she appreciates her current girlfriend Sunstar so much, who has no qualms of keeping both their interests in mind.
 
Her magic can manipulate nearby sound waves, but only those very close or created by herself.  
With her Retracto spell, she can pull herself to far-away places via magical lasso. Otherwise, she has not many other spells.
