We’re now at part 4 of Twilight’s Ascension and as you can see, I’ve colored in alicorn Twilight in her coronation dress gazing at her new wings. In the season 3 finale, Twilight ended up solving an ancient spell by Starswirl the Bearded which helped bring her friend’s cutie marks back to the ponies they originally belonged to. Afterwards, Princess Celestia then grants Twilight a pair of wings becoming an alicorn and the Princess of Friendship.  
A few years ago, I remember hearing of a fan theory that Twilight actually died in the season 3 finale and is now some sort of eternal pony spirit. In the episode, Twilight’s friends accidentally zapped her with the Elements of Harmony and she suddenly disappears leaving behind a pile of ash. Could that ash actually be Twilight’s body? Twilight then finds herself in a surreal celestial place(which you could argue is like heaven) where she is greeted by Princess Celestia(who is basically God in the MLP universe) and she literally has her whole life flash before her very eyes. As a reward for her good deeds, Celestia grants Twilight a pair of avian wings, just like an angel.  
In the season 9 finale, Twilight overtakes Celestia’s position as the new ruler of Equestria essentially becoming a God. If you notice in the finale, some of Twilight’s friends appear to have wrinkles and shades of grey hair while Twilight herself doesn’t show any signs of aging and it is said that in the afterlife, individuals do not age. So yeah, Twilight started off as an ordinary unicorn, died in season 3, became the MLP equivalent of an angel, and later on ……. became God. Do you subscribe to this fan theory?
