Oooh boy, I did this in half a day. As soon I got home I sat down working on this and just… worked. Been a while since I last just worked on something full digitally for myself and not done as a request, commission or prize or anything.
Also been first real Star Shot art since I closed down her blog, now I think about it. I guess there’ll be some Star Shot fans happy to see her again after so long. Now, story behind the image. More or less of an event is going on through a part of the brony community on tumblr. At least the part following the popular Ask-King-Sombra blog. After a long run of a consistent story, inclusion of asks, OC’s and a vast variety of other blogs to push the plot on or just to fill out the background, a dedication to a steady update schedule at least twice a weak with several panels each time, amazing and hilarious characters and development… it is finding the end of its story. And it’s going out with a bang.
And thus, fans all over tumblr, is showing they are watching by making this image. The view repeated from where-ever the different blogs are happening in their own story, to spread the word about how many pay such close attention to the story of this blog and its creator.I already made one tribute to this through my active pony-blog, Butters The Alicorn. But that was done really fast and a bit half-butted. I wanted to do better. So I gave another go to try show this thing on a more epic scale. Sure I’m not the first to show the view from space (Dead link). But it’s the only view Star Shot can get of it, during her return back to her natural habitat.
So, although I wanted to do something better than my first try, I admit some parts of this is a bit rushed. But I like how it overally turned out. Maybe I could have angled things a bit better so Star Shot’s body wouldn’t disappear against the planet below as much. But I like the result considering I worked on this in one go, just to see if I could. So, enjoy ^^
