Backstory: As a young filly in Canterlot, Emo was very mute. Although she couldn’t speak, she could express herself very well through music. Because of the tough times that she went through being mute, she decided to move to Ponyville as a way for her to escape when she was older.
During the first few months of her stay in Ponyville, she met Kai after having an attraction towards him. Kai offered her to train to be a martial artist after realizing how rough she had as a mute pony, and Emo agreed. During her training with Kai, she improved on her magic skills, and this was also where she met Skateboard Jo, Flora, Uni-Candy, and Lolly Pop, after realizing that one thing they all had in common was that they had a crush on Kai. As a result, there were occasions where the five of them would either pull harmless pranks on Kai or seduce him into being tickled.
Even after they completed their training, the five still remained friends. However, they soon met Sugar Mele after news of the Nirik King returning to Equestria to start a war. When Emo first met Sugar, the latter had difficulty communicating with her for obvious reasons, but she was able to understand her better thanks to the help of the Awesome 6. Emo was also the first pony to encounter the Ponyville Pals after accidentally encountering their enemy Flare the Doe.
After winning the battle between the Awesome 6 and the Nirik King, and Sugar’s coronation, she became a popular DJ. She has written songs, collaborated with other artists, and traveled all over Equestria to DJ at parties, but the Awesome 6 will always be her family no matter what happens.
