These are my ideas for the Next Generation of MLP taking place after the events of the show. Please note there are a lot of my head-canons and some of my personal ships/preferred ships. Please be respectful of my opinions :) (Smile) Additionally, I am not at all caught up with the current seasons at this time so there won’t be references to them until I watch the episodes!
 

 
FluffleBear was helping me get into the habit of just sketching and doing 5 min sketch stuff. She wanted to see more Milkshake, so I decided to draw this adorable gal. This idea was the last sketch I did (though I was so focused on her cheeks and hair that I only got the headshot done by the time 5 mins were up) and it was the one that inspired me the most! This is Milkshake when she was a filly <3
 
Milkshake is the daughter of Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich most of the time- but many times in her life, especially in the summer, she was also the daughter of Prince Blueblood. And that made her a Princess! Not to the level of, say, Princess Athena, nor her distant cousins Princess Clairvoyance and Prince Entropy- but still a royal! As a foal, she experienced two very different childhoods. One was full of warmth and surrounded by loving parents, lots of playful and fun siblings, and lots of friends, noise, and laughter. One was much quieter, filled with lessons of nobility, the enrichment of learning both skills and things, sipping tea in a custom designer clothes and also getting everything she wanted whenever she wanted except the undivided attention of her very busy but also loving biological father.
 
But the times she did get to actually bond with her bio-dad were so much fun. The first birthday party that he actually attended, despite it not being summer yet, she was overjoyed. She loves her dads, she loves her mom, and she loves her siblings. She may never be able to live with them all together, but for the first time she was surrounded by all the people she loved. Crazily enough, this was also the first time she truly felt like a princess.
 
The princess hat was a birthday gift from her pa Cheese Sandwich, who wanted to bring a little bit of the ‘fancy proper princess’ life to his daughter so that when she missed her other father, she’d have something to remind her of him. He’d have no idea how much that birthday party meant to his daughter, or how much of an impression from that day would be left on the gift he’d given her. She wore it a lot for a long time. Even now, she has that hat as a memento of her childhood.

Pinkie Pie and Prince Blueblood are the bio parents of Milkshake, but Pinkie Pie is married to Cheese Sandwich. Technically, you could say Cheese Sandwich is Milkshake’s ‘stepdad’, but he’s been her father since she was born and even if they don’t share blood, she will always regard him as her father. She’s got two dads and a mom, and she wouldn’t trade that for anything. It’s part of her identity, part of what made her who she is, and even if it was hard sometimes, she is grateful for it.
 
I love me some wholesome ‘non-conventional’ family dynamics.
