Mulberry takes all the notes and stores them in her pack. She hasn’t the slightest clue what to do next.
“Okay… Okay, one thing at a time…” She tells herself.
She then turns towards Hard Tack’s body one more time. Her beloved assured her that the thing wouldn’t get up but… She can’t help but fear it. It’s strange four beak-like appendages are as sharp as knives.
It’s face is destroyed beyond recognition however, so she has a hard time believing this thing could still be living. For extra insurance though she ties it down with a belt. It might not stop it, but she’ll hear if it tries to get up.
When she has a bit more courage, perhaps she’ll move the body.
She decides to look around the rest of her fiance’s domicile.
She checks the kitchen, but finds no food. Odd, Antoine had said there was enough for days here. She looks to the nearby fireplace and sees some more burnt notes there.
She looks into the bathroom. It contains a toilet, a claw-foot tub, a basin and jug to use to wash and…
A passage leading to the room next door! It looks bashed in from this side as well, so Antoine must have made it.
She cautiously approaches this opening. It leads to another kitchen, though this one has a much smaller stove and counter space. Next to it is a crystal ball sitting on a table. Around the orb are burnt-in runes. The bathroom on this side is the same as Antoine’s minus the hole leading to another room. In this bedroom however there are crates and crates of food. Canned vegetables and fruits, beer, wine, water, and other edibles. Enough to last for quite a while.
The exit of this apartment has the same runes that are above Antoine’s door.
