Had Ghost as an RP character for a while, just finally made him a proper ref. He’s a unfortunate little bug, terribly scared of the super natural because it can’t possibly be real, his Hive is supposed to be the source of them ghost stories, right? Yet why do he see and hear things his siblings can’t?
He rather not think about it, so he zones out a lot when trying to ignore what his sensitive senses pick up that also feels so unreal. It can be hard to tell what is real and what isn’t.
But, people who tries to suppress certain things might find it only makes it worse.
Fearing he was crazy, Ghost ran away from the Hive to avoid causing trouble. Didn’t wish to leave the burden to the Queen to decide whether to send him away or kill him, so he made the choice himself. He misses home, but done is done. At least in some RP-verses he finds companionship to try and help the troubled bug in denial.
No preferred alias. In my RP’s the headcanon for the Necropolis Hive is that since they don rely on infiltration but on prey coming to the graveyards seeking the ghosts on their lost ones, the changelings of this Hive only relies on using the memories detected in the mourning ponies for their disguises to feed, pretending to be a visiting love one from beyond the grave. Giving them less initiative to create original disguises to a point that they simply can’t or just don’t have the imagination to rely on anything but the memories of mourning ponies.
In Ghost’s case, with his sensitivity to spirits, he has the habit to disguise himself as a living version of the spirits he senses rather than the memories of ponies, without thinking about it.
In a current RP he’s partnered up with a private investigator who handles supernatural cases, and if he has lost his disguise at the time after facing a spirit, he just takes on the spirit’s appearance without thinking, when time to disguise up again. He has no initiative to be creative and create an original disguise.
Enjoy!
