Background / Personality
 
Lillith is the second-born child of Princess Luna and Sombra, though she is their first Alicorn child and as such, she was made the crown heir instead of Pyrinos, the first-born.
 
Ever since she was born, Lillith has been able to see and hear the souls of the departed and damned, often speaking with them and befriending the ones that hung around. The first time she helped a spirit move on, she realized this was probably what she was supposed to do and she got her cutie mark, confirming her realization. She’s seen as a bit weird and hard to talk to because she’s a bit spooky and can often be found talking to the air or walls or statues. She can cast a spell to reveal spirits and the like to other ponies and creatures but it takes a lot of concentration and can’t be cast for very long.
 
Lillith was very dissatisfied with this decision to make her Luna’s crowned heir but shouldered it so as not to upset the many who looked up to her and depended on her. She saw how they turned their backs on her brother and treated him like a monster once he was no longer the crown prince, and she hated it. She hated being a princess and the responsibilities that came with the title. They weighed heavy on her; pressing on her shoulders, clawing down her back, shouting at her from all sides during the day as the dead and damned whisper in her ear during the night.
 
It drains her beyond anything and she’s often found sleeping during any free time she has, becoming a skilled napper able to fall asleep just about anywhere. She’s a very grumpy riser when she finally gets any amount of sleep longer than an hour and will snap at whoever is nearest. Because she’s constantly in a state of exhaustion, she is very soft-spoken and tends to just let others do as they please if it will let her get back to sleeping or give her some peace and quiet.
