Happy Aromantic Awareness Week, ya’ll!
 
Just a quick tribute squeezed in for today among my other projects. Of course I hafta join in on the occasion. I first learned about romantic orientations much later after coming out as asexual, but it sure helped to find the final piece of who and what I am.
 
 
Aromantic is to not be romantically interested in people. I’ve never fallen in love, never had a crush in my life. At best I’ve had a flirt or two simply because I felt pressured by expectations of society that you MUST do so at some point.  
I am asexual too, but those two are not one and same. The majority of asexual people have a different romantic orientation. Of people I’m close to who are ace too, I only know one other who is aro as well like me. The rest is a bunch of romantic sobs are I’m very happy for them and their better halves.
 
No, I’m not sad and only. No, I don’t have no love in my life. No I don’t miss having a romantic connection to someone else. I have family love, love of friends and so on. It comes in many forms. Just because I’m not into people romantically, nor physically, doesn’t mean I miss out on something, when it’s something I don’t event want. Nor does it mean I belittle how others feel. If you are a romantic fool, good on ya. I hope the best for your happy ending.
