Since Serina’s hatching, the word quickly spread around Ponyville that the crazy monster, also known as Discord, had managed to reproduce. While half of the ponies in the village were happy and said their congratulations to the married couple, the other half rolled their eyes and scowled at them whenever they got the chance. It reminded the two of their wedding, in which ponies got into a huge fight about whether they should be allowed to get married or not.
Even though some ponies were hateful, Fluttershy simply ignored them and focussed on important things. Walking along a narrow path worn down by ponies and other creatures alike, the yellow mare headed toward a large purple castle. Twilight’s castle. Her heart ached at the familiar sight, for she and her friends had gathered here for countless moons, planning their attacks on vicious beasts, hiding away from riots of ponies, or just to simply catch up with each other. At some point, they each had found a happily ever after with a special somecreature, and since then had been too busy with family life and couldn’t find the proper time to meet up with each other again.
Her old friend Twilight had sent her a letter saying that her girlfriend, Tempest Shadow, was going out on a business trip for the weekend and that now would be a good time to catch up if Fluttershy had the chance to come to her castle. Fluttershy quickly agreed and figured because Twilight hadn’t met Serina yet, she would bring her daughter along so she could meet her. She grabbed her baby carrier, placed Serina in gently, and headed off.
Placing her hooves on the golden steps and trotting up, the mother gave a quick and quiet knock on the door. Fluttershy realized how quiet it was, and after a few moments began to worry, thinking Twilight didn’t hear her. Before she knocked again, a purple alicorn opened the door and smiled wide.
“Fluttershy!” she sprang up into the air, flapping her wings so she would stay in place. “I’m so happy to-” Twilight paused, a shocked look on her face.
“What is it?” Fluttershy looked from side to side. “Is something wrong?”
“You brought Serina with you!” Twilight’s smile became even wider than before. “Oh my gosh, she’s so adorable!”
Fluttershy giggled and sat down so her friend could see her better. “So you noticed, then?”
The princess crouched to Serina’s level and stared in awe.
Serina did not share her enjoyment, however, and let out a little squeak of terror.
“Aw, Riri, it’s okay. It’s just the princess.” Fluttershy tried to soothe Serina, but failed.
Instead of being calm, Serina stared wide-eyed in horror as Twilight giggled.
“She’s probably startled by my excitement,” Twilight told Fluttershy, not looking away from the draconequus. “How can I not be excited? I’ve never seen a baby draconequus before! Especially not one this perfect! How about we come inside and I make some tea?”
Fluttershy nodded, and the three of them entered the castle.
