I decided to draw Shiny again, this time with reference made to where I took inspiration for both her name and some of the more “normal” (read: non-fetish) aspects of her character, the latter of which applies to the stallion version of her as well. That inspiration source is of course Little Witch Academia, and the first OP “Shiny Ray” by Yurika.
 
I used a completely different method from my normal newbie ways, though it’s probably too early to make any claim about finding one’s style. Rather than working closely off a show vector, I grabbed one Rainbow Dash pose from Rainbow Roadtrip, decided “I’m going to hastily sketch this completely freehand and clean it up later”, and did it without care for if I got circular objects perfectly circular or not.
