Description

“Fer Pete’s sake! Ah already fed ya!”
Applejack gritted her teeth in frustration at the wailing foal in her arms, trying to soothe her to no avail.
“Momma?” Her toddler Fools Gold tugged at her tail.
“Want food too!”
“At least someone’s hungry!” Applejack exclaimed to herself.
“Ah’ll get ya something in a sec.”
Summer ignored her mother’s frustration into complaining babies in favor of her own needs and wants, she was only 6 after all so she didn’t really understand the concept of waiting or being patient. She gently knocked against her mothers hind leg and flapped her wings in excitement.
“Momma! Momma! Wanna watch me go flying? Daddy taught me a new trick to do in the air last weekend!”
Applejack turned back towards her with a harried expression.
“Summer, hun, can we do it later? Momma’s mighty busy right now.”
Summer began to pout and stomp her hooves, tearing up a tad because she hasn’t gotten time with her momma in a few weekends.
“No momma! I wanna go flying now! We never get to spend any time with each other anymore!”
“Ah know and Ah’m sorry,” Summer shot her a regretful glance in the midst of tending to the other two little ones.
“But Momma’s got a lot of responsibilities she’s gotta take care of. Maybe some other time, okay?”
“You just like Sugar and Fool more than me dont you! Just like Daddy likes Flora more than me! Ever since you guys stopped loving eachother you didnt want me anymore!”
Summer said rather confidently, having no knowledge that she was the result of a one night stand. Not that her parents didnt want her after all.
“No Summer, that ain’t what it is at all! Ah love you just as much as Ah love Sugar and Fools and-“
The little filly spun around before her mother could even finish her sentance, and with that she ran out the door with tears in her eyes. After a few moments of walking around she saw a blue figure up on a cloud. Bubble Blast! It must be him! He’d be able to make her feel better.
“Summer! What’s wrong, family stuff again?” He asked after she flew up to his cloud.
Summer nodded at her friend, he was 8! A whole 2 years older! He was so smart and mature. Surely he could console her.
“Yuh huh! My momma and daddy love my siblings more than they love me! My momma never wants to watch me fly anymore!”
“Sorry, Summ,” he patted her back as reassuringly as he could. “I’d never do that to you.”“I know YOU’D never!” Summer smiled wide. “You’re my best friend.”
