My entry for artisitandanimator’s contest. Seeing as she seems to be quite fond of Johnny Depp and horror in general I decided to do a sort of crossover with Sweeney Todd, where the two OC’s Nawni and Momma have been transported into the story (in the same way that the Mane6 and Spike were pulled into the comic book in Power Ponies) as two of the main characters. Momma can now be seen in the role of Mrs. Lovett and Nawni has become (a genderbent) Toby. I decided to go ahead and mute their colours a bit, so they’d fit a bit better into the mood of the story.
 
Why the terrified expressions? Because they both know how the story ends. I honestly felt terrible when I drew in Nawni’s tears…
 
I did consider changing the razor to something that would make a bit more sense for ponies to use, seeing as they would probably just trim their beards, but decided against it. While vectoring this I listened to the soundtrack of the movie on repeat and I can’t get it out of my head now. You know how your mind sometimes just goes completely blank? Yeah, no. It’s still. There.
