Never thought I’d fall in love with a show like Boston Legal. But good lord have I ever. So here’s the story: I don’t have cable, but one of those over-air cables that give you like 20 of the main channels (ABC, NBC, PBS, FOX, and so forth…) and one of those channels is H&N which shows old shows like Mr. Ed, I Love Lucy, Laramie, bunch of other old westerns (and all of the great old horrors via the hilarious Svengoolie). My mom is in her 60s and loves revisiting her old shows. Some of the more recent additions include Monk and Boston Legal.
 
It began to come on after I came home from work and I started watching it with my mom. I immediately remembered the theme song and realized it was one of her “background shows” - shows she could watch with my dad to calm him down. We kids really weren’t allowed to watch it. And boy howdy, do I understand why now.
 
But good lord, I do love James Spader, and mom practically bottle-fed me Star Trek so of course I love Bill just hamming it up and having a grand old time. spader is just sexy as fuck so there’s that. But the best thing about this whole song and dance, other than the impeccable writing, is I’ve discovered one of the loveliest, most satisfying bromances ever. Denny and Alan’s chemistry is damn-near perfect and I just so enjoy watching these flamingos.
 
 
Bostrot Legal is a favorite amongst the young-teen gang of the Athenaverse. Jetstream is particularly fond of Alan. Rarity is aghast that one of her friends (rainbow obvs) let all these children watch such torrid entertainment!
