Just something new I’m trying with my style. I’m trying to go for a more geometric yet organic aesthetic, along with colored lines instead of just black. And I thought what better way to test it out than with a simple sketch of my favorite Young Six ship: Yonabar!
 
I may have made Yona’s back/neck hump to big, but I liked how Samdbar’s cutie mark came out. I (re)designed it to resemble Polynesian tattoos considering his laidback surfer dude personality. Probably can’t see them, but oh well, what’s done is done.
 
So anyway, I just love these two so much! They are surprisingly adorable together. I totally see Yona being her usual brash excited self, and Sandbar with his chilled attitude easily getting her to calm down before she breaks something. This being something the couple goes through several times a week.
 
Truth be told, I think Sandbar’s ‘generic’ personality could make him a great ‘straight man’ to the other creatures’ (especially Gallus, Smolder and Yona) ‘wise guy’ considering he seems to be the most level-headed of the six, if a little ditzy at times. He definitely smarter than he appears, if School Raze is any indication.
 
TL;DR - here’s two adorable teens being adorable and being possibly the first canon interspecies relationship.
