Maaan took me forever to figure out a colour scheme for this one. A few might remember Fisheyes here from a few Doodles I made a while back.

A character born from the RP’s with MisterMech and our super pony universe getting more and more screwed up. Good times!

Fisheyes is an orphan, left on the doorstep as an infant with no memory of any family. All he has is an old scarf.
Unfortunately for him, the orphanage is run by a unicorn who secretly uses the foals for her magical experimentation. Figuring an ugly colt like Fisheyes wouldn’t be easy to give up to adoption he ended being her little experiment to observe the effects of long time exposures to the body transformation her research focuses on. Turning foals into monstrosities, figuring out how to change their very DNA through magical manipulation and potions. The foals never remember anything as soon they go back to normal and so far her little side projects haven’t been found out.
Fisheyes got a bit of a weird bonding to this head of the orphanage, even when he figures out what has been done to him and what he has become, he just wants to make his “mommy” happy no matter what. Believing she’s the only one who cares. Even though what he has become, and slowly becoming, is all her doing and she’s just using him for own gain. Fisheyes just ain’t right after all those years of magical experiments.

I never managed to really draw his freakish monster forms, but the idea is they are all inspired by freaky deep sea creatures and to some extend he can appear like an eldrich horror when things gets out of hoof. He’s so pumped with different sea creature DNA that his monster forms rarely ever look the same. When he gets older he can somewhat manipulate the forms by own will to make use of the skills that come with them, for different tasks.
As a child he began remembering his experiences as a monster sent out to receive goods for “mommy” as terrible nightmares, being the first step to cause his insomnia. Much of his sickly appearance have been side effects of the experiments or the insomnia.
He likes to spend his downtime on drawing and writing stories and poetry worthy of Dr. Lovecraft. And eating bugs.

Old sketches which has been on my computer for a long time, now finally coloured. You got no idea how much I adore drawing this character. I don’t even know why.
