A follow up to LOAM: Full Recovery (Previous)

After the long scolding Harmony endured from her mother, feelings of anger and frustration began to buildup in her heart. She never liked being a siren, yet to show how much she loved her mother she went along and learned how to be a siren. However, she isn’t strong like one, she’s an intelligent young one, she can transform, but she doesn’t have a sirens instinct to kill or fight.

In fact she loath confrontation believing in Princess Twilight’s teachings in the Magic of Friendship and peace. Being born from a unicorn and siren is hard enough but Harmony still struggles with her own identity and what life she chooses to pursue. Today was the big day when she decided enough was enough. With years of buildup her anger exploded in one swift motion devastating her mother and startling herself in the process.

“I want to be a pony like madre!” She yelled throwing her gem to the floor. “I HATE BEING A SIREN!”

As the words resonated within Aria, mixed with seeing her daughter in such distress and anger made her question herself. The tears welled up in her eyes misting over her vision as she tried to focus on Harmony’s now cracked gem. Torn between sadness and anger Aria did the only thing she could think of to salvage the situation. This decision was a difficult one, and one that denied her very nature.

She accepted defeat and Harmony’s decision to not want to be a siren.

“W-well, i’m glad you told me now rather than later. So I can focus on my work rather than wasting my time teaching you things you have no use for,” Aria managed to choke out.

Devastated by Harmony’s deceleration Aria turned and stormed off to her workshop Leaving Harmony behind.

“Mom, wait-”

“Tell your mother to leave some dinner for me in the fridge please,” Aria said walking briskly ahead of Harmony. “I’ll get it later.”

Slamming the door in her daughter’s face Aria coughed trying to hold back her tear. She cursed herself for being so blind that she never saw that Harmony was so unhappy. What was she thinking? No, it had to be Twilight’s fault. All over again the Princess of Friendship stepped on her life and Aria was suffering for it.

“It’s just like what happened between Trixie and Maud, all over again,” Aria snarled.

“Mom! Mom… I’m sorry,” Harmony’s muffled voice called from behind the door.

Aria slid down with her back to the door and sighed wiping her tears away.

“Yeah, I’m sorry too.”

With all her anger Aria clenched her fist and with on e powerful thrust sent her fist into the walls of her workshop tearing through wood and concrete. She left a fist sized hole in the wall as she ripped her now bloody fist out and stared at it.

“Huh, guess I have a lot to learn still,” Aria said rubbing her hand.
