(Late) submission for prompt 13 of ATG 2018, Draw a pony from or in the future / Draw a pony exploring the final frontier.  
This might not entirely be what was intended with draw a pony from the future (I mean, where’s the lasers?), but hey, to people from the past, we’re all from the future And besides, part of the fun of these prompts is playing around with ideas and coming up with something creative to draw in the first place.
 
Downside of being a smarty pants was having to try and learn the G1 art style all of a sudden, and it was surprisingly hard to find good source material for it. In my initial attempt, the G1 pony kinda looked like a dinosaur (which they sort of do, just less than mine). After horsing around for a bit, it became clear that the only way to really fix it was to just redraw the head from scratch, and to prepare, I ended up sketching 55 G1 heads, with varying expressions and angles. With the final version, I do feel like it communicates what she is supposed to be, although it does not really have the same feel to it as the original. Any more than this would not be reasonable just for this picture alone, although it was interesting enough that I think I might come back to generation 1 in the future. Who knows?
