Most fillies and colts were thrilled whenever they got a chance to visit Grandma’s house. They relished spending time baking cookies, playing games, and sharing stories with their sweet old granny like any foal would.
 
Chocolate Cheesecake, not so much.
 
He didn’t hold anything against his grandma. He would never say a negative word about her out loud. But she was dull, boring, and grumpy. Instead of baking cookies and playing games, she gave lectures over a bowl of rock soup. Just like today.
 
“So, Cheesecake,” Cloudy Quartz interrupted his thoughts. “What have you been doing in school?”
 
“Oh, we’re doing something really fun next week!” Cheesecake grinned. “There’s gonna be a special day where we don’t have to do work at all! Instead, drag queens are gonna come read stories to us! They’re calling it, ‘Fabulous Fables.’”
 
“Drag queens?” Cloudy cocked an eyebrow suspiciously.
 
“Yeah!” Cheesecake grew nervous under her gaze. “S-stallions in dresses!”
 
“Why don’t they call themselves mares if that’s what they think they are?” Cloudy grumbled. “Foals these days are losing touch with tradition because these…degenerates are feeding all these twisted ideas into their minds. What happened to the days when mares and stallions knew their place? If ponies are confused, they should say so so they can get help! Instead of acting like it’s a good thing. Cheesecake, please tell me you don’t support these…crimes against nature.”
 
Cheesecake frowned and stammered, “W-well, I-“
 
“Hey Mom!” His mother Pinkie called out, shooting him a knowing glance. “Confetti has a new special somepony she’d like to tell you about!”
 
Cheesecake silently thanked her for distracting Cloudy, but his mind started spinning with what she’d just said. Degenerates. Confused. Crimes against nature. He didn’t understand all those words, but he knew they meant something bad. He was a colt who loved dressing up in fillies’ clothes, was he a degenerate? Was he even a colt at all?
 
Maybe he really was confused…
