HEADCANNON TIME
 
Alright so I heavily ship Twiggles and Scorp, the way I see Scorpan is adorable and I think they’d make the perfect pair. SO lets get some stuff written down yes?
 
How they Met:  
In Equestria there is an annual meeting of all the delegates from the World Organization of Harmony (WOH) that’s held in different locations every year. The meeting is completely secret, only able to be known through a spell that transfers the memory of the location. There’s portals set up all over that lead to the designated area and they only work when the ceremony is scheduled. At this meeting, the delegates come together to discuss their kingdoms, how they’re running and any announcements (Such as a new princess, new villain, or general harmony). This years particular meeting was to be held at King Vorak and Queen Haydon’s kingdom of Gargonia Centere and Twilight was finally able to go as she was now a princess. She packed up all her books and eagerly joined Celestia, Luna and Cadence through the portal to the Outlands.  
The event was long and there were so many ponies and non ponies to meet! Queen Novo was there, King Haakim, Queen Amria, and even Prince Rutherford! Through all the delegates, One stood out to Twilight, the brown gargoyle greeting the guests at the portal. Scorpan was the legendary hero of Equestria as he single hoofly took down Tirek the first time by choosing the difficult choice of betraying and capturing his brother. By alerting the royal sisters, he was able to join with them and lead Tirek to his demise as they locked him in Tartarus. The purple alicorn excitedly made her way over, “we could talk about Starswirl or ancient equestria or his family’s history with the princesses! or-!” She was so caught up in her thoughts that she ran straight into Scorpan’s mane! She quickly backed up, a thousand apologies spilling out of her mouth as Scorpan tried to calm the frazzled princess.  
“Woah woah woah, it’s quite alright no harm done” he bowed at the sight of her crown “Pleasure to meet you Princess Sparkle” Twilight stood up, shook her head and smiled before returning with a curtsy “Pleasure to meet you Scorpan”  
From there, the two hit it off, with Scorpan being the prince and Lorekeeper, he had plenty to talk about. He wanted to hear all about Twilight’s adventures, how bad Tirek was the second time and how they managed to tame the malicious Discord. Twilight was happy to tell, in exchange he tell her about Starswirl, old Equestria, his own kingdom and how Tirek was before he turned evil. The two were practically inseparable the whole event, talking up until the last moment. Unfortunately, time was up and Twilight had to return home, she said her goodbyes with a promise to see him again soon.  
As soon as she got home, her mind was buzzing with everything Scorpan had told her but not just that, there was something else making her heart beat. When she thought of the gentle, kind, smart gargoyle her heart seemed to flutter a bit. It was odd, she’d never felt this feeling before, what could it be? After talking with her friends about it, Rarity identified it immediately, The princess of friendship had a crush!  
Later that week, Twilight received a letter from the Prince of Gargonia. In it, he wrote that he was to be coming to Equestria for awhile to learn about all the history missing from his books from the recent years. He requested a room in the castle as to be near to Twilight and her friends as they were there for most of the missing events. Twilight couldn’t believe her eyes, she quickly wrote back that she was excited to help describe equestrian history and that he was more than welcome at the castle.  
Their time together ended up leading to a long relationship. Scorpan was practically shaking when he first asked Twilight to be his special somepony, “why would the amazing Princess of friendship want to be with a monster like me?” he wondered. Much to his delight she accepted and the two remained until their wedding a year later.  
Scorpan still works as Lorekeeper, accompanying twilight on some of her friendship missions (actually having a few himself), traveling to other lands such as the Dragon Kingdom to learn from them (he and spike are very close although spike didn’t like him dating twilight at first), and even helping create new stories as threats arose in Equestria. He and twilight share a deep connection all started from being two book nerds geeking out together.
 
ANnnnnnd that’s about it for now! I’ve got some more headcannon stuff on Scorpan such as his banishment, relationship with Tirek and other things but I’ll write those down another time
