Turquoise Edge splashed in the bathtub as her father Zephyr Breeze maneuvered around her squirming to wash her fur and mane.
“Hey, hold still for me,” he uttered. “You wanna be all clean and pretty, right?”
He was met with a forceful splash of water that soaked his own coat.
“Hm…” Zephyr rubbed himself with a towel and looked over at the basket of bath toys. He picked one up and placed it in the tub. “How ‘bout a rubber ducky? Play with this for a bit so your old Daddy can get you all washed up.”
Turquoise seemed to take immediately to the ducky, as she grabbed onto it and started cooing happily and splashing it around. “Duh-duh!”
”What’s that, little filly?”
She held the toy up and grinned toothlessly at her father. “Duh-duh!”
”You’re right! That is a ducky!” Zephyr lifted her out of the tub and rubbed her with a towel until she was dry and fluffy. He then put a bow clip in her mane.
”Now, what sound do duckies make?”
Turquoise let out a high-pitched chirp that sounded just like a real duckling.
“That’s right!” Zephyr grinned down at her and tickled her belly. “That’s right, little Ducky!”
She began to squirm, so he put her down and let her go. “Okay, now you can go play. I love you, my fuzzy little duckling.”
