Plasma: ”Hey Daisy, how long would it take you to make prosthetic legs for Red anyhow? Do you think you could make her a new horn too?”
Daisy: ”Umm, I think maybe just the rest of the day for a prototype she can just walk on. If we wanted something really cool that would take more time and credits. We’ll just need about 100 credits to get a doctor to install the legs and I can probably scavenge the parts to build them for free. Just don’t expect them to take shots or heavy recoil well. As for her horn… Well at that point you’re asking me to make a focus and that’s more of a magical study than a scientific one. So you’re gonna want to ask a wizard or doctor.”
Plasma: “Well what about something to protect her horn?”
Daisy scratches her head a bit in thought.
Daisy: ”I guess I could make a small helmet with whatever I can find or she could borrow my personal shield if you really plan on putting her in a firefight.”
Plasma: ”Ok I’ll keep those options in mind. So if we do this what is it that you both can do?”
Daisy: ”Well you saw my resume but as a quick refresher, I’m a battletech!”
Red: ”What the heck is that?”
Daisy: ”Oh, it’s something I coined myself!”
Red Dive rolls her eye as Daisy puffs her chest in pride.
Red: ”Of course you did”
Daisy: ”Rude, bao! For your information, It means that I’m kinda like an engineer, but I also specialize in piloting, and experimental weapons development. Personally I like to rush in with my shield, to do close quarters combat with my gauntlets, but if I can’t do that I’ll use my attack drone. Big bro used to be a officer at one point, so he gave me self-defense training. The weapons and tech stuff I learned in school.”
Plasma: ”Alright sounds useful. So what about you Red Dive, what can you do?”
Red: ”Well I don’t have a fancy diploma or anything, but I’m a cook.”
Plasma: ”You’re a cook! What kind of cooking needs spells that nearly burns down a building?”
Red dive snickers a bit at your surprise and responds with look of satisfaction before her smile fades again.
Red: ”I like to consider myself a BBQ specialist… Or I guess I used to be. Anyway, I know how to shoot even without my horn and I can take cover if things go bad.”
Plasma: ”Right shooting… So how’s your aim going to be then. Is your eye ok?”
Red: ”It hurts to open. So I’ve been keeping it closed…”
For a moment there is an awkward silence and Red dive looks a bit insecure, maybe you shouldn’t bring up her injuries right now. You get the feeling she’s trying to hold a lot stress in so you decide to change subjects.
Plasma: ”Alright! Well now that we got this out of the way I had an idea to trick our way in. I could make a clone of Daisy and bam, we’re in! Heck we might not even need to fight unless we really want that bounty.”
Daisy: ”OH! Right that’s a great idea. But are you sure you’re okay to do that? You’re looking a little wobbly.”
You start to notice that your legs are starting to feel a bit shaky. You take a seat and grasp at your head as the headache starts to set in. You can already tell it’s magic fatigue, obviously you’ve been casting a bit too much without breaks today. You’ll need some rest before you can start slinging spells again.
Plasma: ”Guess i’m just a little tired. It’s been a long day.”
Red: ”Well, I guess we could shack up at my crew’s old place. Not like they can use it anymore…”
