No…would she? Could she really hate her daughter that did nothing wrong? She did not ask to be born into the family she was. It wasn’t her fault that she had a killer as a mother…no…that she had Turquoise Edge as a mother. Turquoise Edge and her daughter were…as Hawk had said, two completely different mares. The thought of Hawk brought back extremely unpleasant memories of the past few months as her head stung with pain and sorrow.
“How could you disown your own child? OUR child?”
Firefly. Her wife. Her lover. The only mare who had looked past her tough exterior and saw good instead of spite.
“I’m glad I wasn’t disowned. But for all I know, I could be next.”
Lunar. Her eldest daughter. The one who listened but she didn’t have a connection with. Did she even truly sit down to just…talk with her? Ask how she felt?
“Galaxy…you’re better than this. I know it. But I can’t be associated with somepony who disowns their child.”
Confetti…her longest and most trusted friend. Even she had turned her away and she could see why now. She visited Confetti only once in the hospital. She wasn’t even there when she awoke…what kind of friend was she?
“I thought we were friends. But I suppose I couldn’t see who you really were all these years.”
Hawk..so many jokes and good times…why had she said what she did? Why had she ruined something so close to her?
“I thought I raised you better Galaxy. I guess not.”
Twilight, her…Mom. She was so defensive about her father that she had forgotten what her mother had meant to her. Twilight had offered to spend time with her over the years, but Galaxy was either busy with her father or too angry at her mother for betraying Flash. Why didn’t she spend time with her Mom? There were so many opportunities and yet…she never cared. Her poor mother tried so hard, but yet…cheated on her father. How was Galaxy supposed to feel about this? Sad? Angry? She just felt pain.
“I knew it all along. You never cared about anybody did you?”
Dusk. Her brother. She wasn’t blind. She saw how Flash ignored him. Yet…she always thought her father had a good reason for doing so, yet…he didn’t. Did he know Dusk wasn’t his son? Conflict plagued her head. She ignored him just as much as her father. She was a horrible sister…
“Are you deaf, Galaxy Guard? I said, you’re fired! Now get out of my site!”
Commander Tempest Shadow. For what she lacked with her own mother, Galaxy had looked to Tempest Shadow as an idol. And…her idol found her toxic. Someone she admired as much as respected…seemingly despised her.
What had she become? How far had she fallen? Galaxy Guard bowed her head into her front hooves, the only sound in the silent night being her broken sobs.
