Celestia and Luna’s parents, and the last reigning couple of Tempest Mountain.
 
Viridian: Perhaps the most gentle and kind alicorn ever borne from the mountaintop. As his talent was plant growth, Viridian spent less time ruling alongside his Lifemate and more time managing Tempest’s extravagant and pungent gardens that both fed and enriched the people. Viridian was absolutely the crazy naturalist, as he would forgo traditional jewelry that often decorated alicorn royalty, and he would spend hours frolicking in the gardens and meadows and forests utterly naked - well, naked in comparison to other alicorns. He was obscene, and yet lovable. Perhaps more of a village sweetheart than a true embarrassment, but many ponies were quite baffled to see him walk about with a mane full of flowers, dirt and sticks. When he met his future lifemate, he found himself excited by her sharp energy and controlling manner. Somehow, he fell in love quite quickly with her and made his feelings known. She pretended to hate this, but eventually, to Viridian’s joy, she accepted him. He loves both of his daughters to pieces. Despite his whimsical approach to parenthood, often letting the kids figure things out on their own, he is wonderful when it comes to advice about matters of the heart. Viridian is simply a happy stallion who finds pleasure in the little wonders of life. He always takes the time he needs to restore his inner peace via meditation, picking fruit for his people, or by reading a good book on botany.
 
Oriana: A stern and intimidating mare who always has a plan. Unlike Viridian, she knew from day one what she wanted to do with her life. Oriana devoted herself entirely to her people and her status as future ruler. As mandated by rules set in place by Prometheus himself, Oriana had inherited the power over the sun from her father, and so she was instantly chosen to be the future ruler of Tempest Mountain. Oriana seemed to always have her shit together, and was undoubtedly the most respected mare in the society. She was loved and feared for her firm but fair judgement. Being fit, study, and self-discipline was a standard she held for both herself and the rest of the alicorns. She established several schools to keep the alicorns disciplined in multiple subjects, including horn fencing, choir, botany, history, magic and so on. Oriana was a pony everyone could depend on, and this made her happy. Yet, she was always lonely. She had nobody to confide in, and her “weakened state of mind” is what allowed her to take a second glance at the handsome stallion with flowers in his hair. At least that is what she tells him to this day. In truth, Oriana had always loved Viridian. She was fascinated by his carefree lifestyle, but she pushed her feelings down for years to focus on being a good leader. It was pushed down so far that she was utterly dumbfounded when Viridian confessed his love for her. It was truly a sight to see her lose control for once, unsure of what to do. For the longest time she just wanted to forget it happened, but there was this nagging desire that just kept picking at her brain. Eventually, of course, she couldn’t hide it anymore and she asked Viridian to be her Lifemate to rule alongside her. They had two daughters. While Oriana shares her softer side with Viridian, she would not show her daughters any mercy. They would be powerful, dignified, capable mares just like her. Too bad she didn’t understand that both of her girls had inherited a bit of their father’s sensitivity.
