You bring you selection up the the counter and the pony running the register says, “Wow bro, You must really love tapes.”
“Yeah, they’re great I guess.”
“So you’re one of those hip kid s right?”
You sigh because you know that he’s talking about hipsters. It’s both a curse and a blessing that they’ve decided to also adopt tapes as their chosen medium. On one hoof hipsters using tape keeps you from looking suspicious, on the other hoof you look like a hipster.
“Yeah, sure. We’ll go with that.”
The clerk rings you up for 102 bits (Fortunately there was a buy one get one deal) and your even given a copy of Parliament’s ‘Flashlight’ on tape as a free promotional thing. After paying for the music you are left with 179 bits.
After heading home you begin setting up the new deck.
“Brandy, have you got any leads?”
“Yes I have but File, I want to talk to you about something.”
“What about?”
“This job, I’m a little worried. Whoever hired us was able to figure out our physical location, and apparently knows exactly what this information is. If they could hack us, why are they paying you to hack into that company’s systems?”
A shiver runs down your spine.
“That is weird…”
“I’ve ran several scans of the system and myself. and I haven’t found any malicious software. But if you could please scan the system yourself I’d feel a lot better. I’m just really worried about you File.”
