Queen Celestia/Mirror Sombra
Princess Penumbra - Older of the two Sun Sisters yet often gets mistaken as the daughter of Princess Luna. Her special talent is dark magic, as her heart is believed to be pure enough to harness dark magic without becoming corrupted. She is often quite jealous of her younger sister, being the natural heiress to their mother and of Prism as she has no powers related to the moon yet is the daughter of her aunt. Feels as though she doesn’t really belong in her family and wishes she could’ve met her father as she believes they would’ve gotten on better.
Princess Sol Radiance - The Younger of the twins and the natural heir to Princess Celestia as she possesses the similar alicorn magic to have the ability to raise the sun despite being a pegasus. She is adored by all and loves being a princess. She is quite naïve however, ignoring her sisters rants about their cousin Prism Dusk and instead tells her to get a grip. Secretly she is jealous of her mother’s fawning over Umbra due to the resemblance she bears to their late father.
Empress Cadance/Emperor Shining Armour
Princess Flurry Heart - A shining (pun totally intended) example of a princess among not only the Crystal Ponies but as well as the rest of Equestria - Flurry Heart is the eldest among the children and is sort of a mother figure to her younger cousins, especially that of Prism Dusk. Despite being trained in the position to be her mother’s heir she realised it didn’t quite come naturally to her, and instead left that role to her younger brother Lancelot (who was happy to take it). Although she looks fragile, she is one of the toughest ponies around and isn’t afraid to fend for herself.
Queen Luna
Princess Prism Dusk - The youngest among the princesses, and some even say they’re not quite sure where she came from. She was always there but - was she? Early memories of the young princess are scarce, but there are plenty of pictures to prove she was around. Despite her seemingly childish and playful nature, Prism is talented in both flying and magic far beyond what is expected of her even as an alicorn. Often kept out of the public eye has only made the mare more curious about life outside her castle walls but trusts in her mother enough to know to keep near. Is immensely intrigued by the stories of the ‘Elements of Harmony’ and how they disappeared but has had to venture into her own research as her questions are often left unanswered.
