General Bio:
Everypony in Canterlot knows that Dazzle here is a sophisticated, well-mannered, and classy mare just as she has been raised to be her whole life. But underneath all that shine and decorum, she is very much the spoiled and petted child of her ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶-̶i̶n̶d̶u̶l̶g̶e̶n̶t̶ loving parents. Guilty as charged, both Fancy pants and Fleur De Lis gave into their daughter’s every whim, doting their affection and attention immensely on their ‘sweet wittle razzy dazzy’. However, they would not tolerate insolent behavior or misconduct, which is probably what saved her from becoming a devious, bratty diva. Spoiled and soft as she may be, Dazzle and her well-meaning, sensitive heart try to follow the moral standard. That doesn’t mean she’s without flaws and shortcomings, goodness no, she has plenty. For one, Dazzle is well aware of her habit to gossip, along with her tendency to over exaggerating certain things, overreacting to certain things, and her general pettiness. But usually, her good-natured attitude and desire please tend to smooth these rough edges over.
Dazzle may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but her knowledge of fashion, literature, gems, and every single, little, thing in a Shopping Mall is unmatched by anypony that she knows of. She’s quite proud of the fact and won’t hesitate to boast of it, but while she enjoys all of those things, Dazzle’s real specialty lies in gems. Ever since she was little, rare stones have always caught her eye, to the point where she may have accidentally taken a few for her own hoard. With long years of study, and a little help from Mrs. Rarity, she was able to train her eye to identify even the smallest of differences in the jewels. Her strong suit lies particularly in matching said gems with anything; be it outfits, mane styles, or the ponies themselves. This is not only her special talent but her life passion. As a result, once she came of age, Dazzle started her own Gem shop in Canterlot. Since she doesn’t really need the bits her business earns her, being an heiress herself, she generously donates the money to Charities, Hospitals, Orphanages, and other unfunded corporations of the like.

Dazzle’s closest and most trusted companion is Sonata Glazed. Of all her many, many friends, Dazzle finds Sonata so much more real and down to earth than the flimsy, high society fillies. Dazzle likes to think it’s her friends relaxed and independent attitude that nautrally draws her to Sonata, but when it comes down to it, it’s also partly the free snacks. But when things get tough and she needs a shoulder to cry her latest heart-brake on or an honest opinion for just about everything, it’s Sonata that she turns to. Dazzle has come to terms with Sonata’s unsophisticated manners by passively aggressively encouraging her in certain lacking areas. Now, if only she could convince her friend that picking up the latest stray animal on the street is highly lethal or how to not get involved with fights in school, she’d feel a lot less concerned for Sonata’s future.
But as of yet, her efforts are as fruitless as ever. Still, Dazzle remains amazed by Sonata’s uncanny ability to inspire ponies the mare doesn’t even know and her raw talent of fixing almost any problem she puts her mind to. Special:
- Dazzle had an extensive education that covered a lot of fields, leading her to be the talent pony she is today. For starters, Dazzle can speak in at least four different languages as well as write in seven, including old Ponydom, bake anything from a delicate souffle to a fine dining cuisine, is an amateur watercolorist and painest, and can sing soprano beautifully. If only she’d put a few of these skills to work.
- When Rarity moved to Ponyville, she quickly grew attached to the ponies she knew there, including Fleur De Lis, who enjoys spending time shopping or ̶g̶o̶s̶s̶p̶i̶n̶g̶ talking over tea with her. As a result, Dazzle and Sonata have basically known each other since birth. Of course, it wasn’t until they were both around 6 that they would even think of calling each other friends, mostly because they were blindsided by their differences and were deeply annoyed by it. Once they figured out that being opposite of each other wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, they started to actually like each other.
- Dazzle has a high maintenance metabolism, coupled with a strong and irrepressible sweet tooth. It’s a blessing and a curse. Although, if she doesn’t watch it, the pounds start to creep up on her. She blames it on her best friend living in a bakery with tempting and delectable smells 24/7.
- Unlike her dear friends, Sonata I-don’t-want-to-date, Dazzle is the exact opposite. In a way that, should a stallion that’s even remotely cute looking ever look her way, she’ll claims it’s true love and romanticises him for it least a week until the next handsome fella comes around. These flingy crushes never amount to anything, since Dazzle never does anything about it, save maybe an eye flutter here or an attractive giggle there. And each and everyone one ends in a soap opera of tears and comfort foods; a never-ending cycle that our dear, poor Sonata must endure for the sake of her friend.
