Around the time that AJ was pregnant with Cricket, her sweet dog, Winona, was expecting as well ( And no, they don’t know who the father is). Winona had a healthy litter of five pups, but the last one was a pretty weak runt. While they sold the rest of the litter, they ended up keeping the youngest.
 
The little guy had somehow latched on to tiny Cricket and at ten weeks old would barely leave her side. Trouble shoes thinks it’s because the two are both, in a way, runts of their families, and that’s what bonded them together. AJ doesn’t really care, she’s just thrilled by the idea of Cricket having a sort of ‘guard’ dog around her in case she should ever need help.
 
And so Pippen, as he was called, came to be Cricket’s best friend and loyal companion from birth. The two are rarely seen apart, and if you dare to hurt either one of the two, then you’ve got either a rabid dog or a wild filly to deal with. Among the things they are seen doing here, the pair also enjoy swimming in the lake, sliding down hay bales, and secretly sneaking into Dusty’s scone stash.
 
Also, the song Cricket sings is a cheesy parody version of the song Kristoff sings to Sven in Frozen.
