Ambrosia really likes flowers -during the summer she can often be seen wearing a few in her mane or tail. Here, she’d taken a day for relaxation, and spent it among the wild flowers growing on the orchard. Also sharing her last slice of the apple she’d brought as a snack with a curious fruit-bat, who came by to see if the colorful stuff she was wearing happened to be any tasty food.
 
Just a nice lazy day in the summer sun.
 

 
So I’ve been out in the countryside for two weeks, and the place I’ve been at is absolutely covered and surrounded by wild flowers growing in fields and by the side of the roads. The garden there is also full of old roses, huge liliacs and giant bushes of red/blackcurrant and raspberries. Also, just a ton of other flowers I don’t know the name of. Being there just makes me feel like summer.
 
I guess I tried to capture the feeling of it with this image? Or I just like drawing flowers. Either way, this background took too long to do, and I didn’t even draw all the flowers I had planned to. But I was spending too much time on it, and had to decide that it was finished
 
The flowers Ambrosia’s wearing is: buttercups in her mane and tail (it was not intentionally done as an omage to Pear Butter, I realized that after I drew them) and harebells, red and white clover and yarrow around her mane. Great willowherb and lupins are stuck in her mane and tail, and an oxeye daisy behind her ear. She’s chewing on a lavender, and around her tail she has redleaf roses.
 
Wow, all those flowers have really different names in english; it’s a good thing wikipedia exists.
