As a foal, Rainbow and Soarin were busy folks. To busy to watch him all day, so they made Fluttershy Champ’s go-to-babysitter 24/7 ( no exaggeration) from the time he got out of Daycare until he enrolled into Flight Camp ( and even then, there were many afternoons Fluttershy had to pick him up and watch him until they could pick him up). That gave Champ plenty of time to hangout with these two, who became like a second family to him.
With Lokie, he’s a little less inclined to hang out with. You know, since Lokie is really quiet, hates loud noises, doesn’t like to adventure or do anything ̶d̶a̶n̶g̶e̶r̶o̶u̶s̶ ̶ fun, and can be a real wet blanket at times. This doesn’t mesh well with Champ’s boisterous and dare-devil personality. But that doesn’t mean Champ doesn’t like him. Quiet the opposite, Champ deep down loves Lokie like a little baby brother ( he is the youngest of the trio, after all) and treats him like one; doing things such as doting on him, pushing him to do things he wouldn’t do, and standing up for the sweet-hearted doormat when needed.
As for Harmony, she and Champ are like two peas in a pod grown in the devils garden. Okay, maybe that’s going too far, but it’s not an overstatement to say these two got in a lot of trouble with their mischief-making pranks and daring dos. Of the two, Champ hangs out with Harmony the most and the two grew to have a very close bond thats held out over the years. They won’t hesitate to laugh at the others misfortune, tease good naturally like siblings do, and they have those really weird and awkward inside jokes that they’ll be cringing at in about ten years from now.
Heads up; expect to see me post a lot on this trio and the individual relationships together more in the future.
On a side note, Fluttershy’s relationship with Champ is extremely close. She’s practically a second mother to him ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶s̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶c̶h̶i̶l̶d̶h̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶c̶t̶u̶a̶l̶ ̶m̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶.̶
