Carmel: “Sure is!”
Limestone: “That’s not surprising. You remember what I said, right? To be the boss-“
Carmel: “- you have to be the boss!”
Limestone: “Heh, that’s my girl.”

These two totally got each other ‘BOSS’ shirts for Hearths Warming.
So, this relationship was suggested by tpalacios17 and I ran with it as fast as my stiff, unathletic legs could run.
Even though Limestone doesn’t have the role of being the oldest Pie sister, she does have position of authority on the Rock Farm and is responsible for a lot of what goes on. In Carmel’s case, she knows all about responsibilities and all that comes with it. So it was only natural that these two ended up connecting like two bossy, iron hoofed peas in a pod.
Ever since Carmel was filly, Limestone has admired Carmel’s sense of duty and straightforward, action taking nature. This made her feel compelled to take the little tyke under her metaphorical wing (in a sense) and teach her all there was to know about being a firm leader. Carmel actually learned most of what she knows from her aunt and sees Limestone as one of her biggest role models in her life.
But underneath all of the hardcore training and rock metaphors, the two actually have a pretty soft relationship and they spend the majority of their time together exploring the Crystal caverns. There, they like to not only search for the most exquisite gems, but also enjoy the privacy it gives them to talk openly with one another about stuff like their dreams, problems with family members, and even the topic of romance ( yes, hardcore limestone will slyly tease Carmel about any latest crush and wheedle out of her all the juicy details.)
Also, for a while, Limestone hoped her favorite niece would be interested in inheriting and working the farm from her, but Carmel declined the idea. Limey, choosing not to be bitter about it, instead is a big supporter of Carmel’s passion to be an event planner, which inspires Carmel more than her Aunt knows.
