Featuring one of my favourite characters from one of my favourite fanfics by one of my favourite fanfic-authors. Fantastic.
 
Seriously though, the author in question is called Estee, and I really like her stories; especially her worldbuilding, it’s very deep and well thought out. I also like what she’s done with the characters, by giving more personality to some background characters and creating really fun and interesting ocs. Segway to the character drawn here. She’s from A Mark of Appeal and her name is Joyous Release. You probably get some ideas for what her talent is based on that name and her cutie mark. I know this may sound a bit crack-ish or silly, but the story is really deep and interesting, the way it goes into Celestia’s thoughts and backstory. You’ll just have to take my word for it.
 
One reason I wanted to draw her (aside from just really liking the story) is that she is described as having a “metallic coat”. And doesn’t that just sound really beautiful? In the ..AU I guess? Headcanon-world of Estee’s it apparantly a really rare coat-variant, the most rare version ever since the crystal ponies came back. And it sounded so pretty that I wanted to try and draw it. Which I did. I think it turned out pretty okay, though I have no idea if it matches what Estee was imagining when they described it.
