Personality: Dust is a patient and gentle colt. He often speaks softly and in a very soothing voice. It helps calm down ponies who are pretty excited/terrified before a show or something. He’s smart and polite, a true gentlecolt. Dust likes peace and quiet, it makes it easier to concentrate and easier to work. He has endless patience and it helps when he has to work with ponies who aren’t used to make-up or anything like that. It also helps when he has to deal with his mom’s (Trixie) long rants about not trying to go on a rampage for more power. Starlight, who he calls “Ma”, also says the same things. The two really don’t want their son following in their footsteps of being an evil, power-crazed pony.
 
Dust was born prematurely and because of that, he was very small and very frail. Starlight and Trixie worried endlessly about his health and Starlight often coddled him in his younger years. She didn’t like it when he played with Clutter because she felt that Clutter was too rough, being the son of Chaos and all. But as he got older he also got stronger and now there are no signs of the small lanky thing he used to be. Though he still has a lean stature, it isn’t overly thin. Starlight still frets sometimes, but Dust always patiently soothes her worries. Trixie, on the other hand, is quite happy with how skilled her son is in his abilities. Even from when he was young, Trixie loved to gush over her son and practically brag about him to any pony unfortunate enough to listen. Even if she showed you the same picture 200 different times, she’ll show it to you again with probably another story. Even if it’s completely minuscule like Dust was outside and he accidentally ate a ladybug. She doesn’t care, she’ll tell you that story 30 times and still won’t get tired of talking about her son. She often brags to Twilight about how adorable her son is and how Twilight doesn’t know the joys of motherhood. Dust loves his mom, but even he gets tired of her constantly talking about him. He’ll always gently ask her to stop, and, after the third time of asking, she usually does stop. For the time being anyways.
 
Lunar Dust loves his family dearly and puts his mothers before his job. If Trixie has a show, Dust always keeps his schedule open just for her. If Starlight has a presentation to do on the statistics and mannerisms of Cutie Marks, he’ll always be there to see it. His friends also join that box of important ponies. Though, the only person he really considers a friend is Sour Apple. The two do enjoy their silence and Dust knows where to step in order not to upset Sour Apple. Though Dust does put up with Clutter from time to time, he wouldn’t exactly call them friends. Same with how he doesn’t consider Blitz a friend or a foe. Blitz is just somepony that always makes an effort to disrupt his calm day.
