Description
Everyone, this is what happens when you procrastinate:A few months back I saw this video. [link] I was horrified. I’m a bit of a My Little Pony fan. I grew up with the G1 tv show and the G2 dolls, so I was already a bit biased against the G3’s, but this was too much. They had taken the ponies and turned them into mutant cat freaks, which is an insult to mutants, cats, and freaks. Something had to be done. So in a fit of rebellion, I started drawing this. I even prepared a lovely speech to go with it on how we need to fight to bring back the ponies of old that faced explosions and supervillians on a regular basis. Except I never finished. So a week or so ago, I discovered the first couple of episodes of the new ‘Friendship is Magic’ series. I’m not sure about the art style, but the show itself is almost exactly what I hoped for. They brought back villains, personality, plot line, and even boys (haven’t seen those for a while). Great, right? Except now it means that all my griping is null and void. So I smacked myself over the head a few times and finally finished this. The moral of the story is: don’t procrastinate. The world moves on without you. About the actual picture:To rebel against Hasbro’s idiocy, I drew the ponies as… rebels. Pinkie Pie is now kind of a goth. Toola-Roola is a punk. Sweetie Belle is now a pyrokinetic, because I say so. And Cheerilee has a sword. I also hated her pigtails, so I cut them off. Now that I think about it, the sword doesn’t look quite right in the setting. I could change it into a gun. Nah….
