You reach in your pocket and pull out about five or six bits, and walk over to the poor mare, letting her have the warmest smile you can put on.
“I’d like to think that you’re right, even if it’s more than likely that we’ve traded love for neon lights and fast cars. Here, it’s the least I can do.”
You hold your hoof of bits toward the mare. Giving you an equally warm smile she cups your hoof with both of hers, softly holding you for a moment before turning you hoof over.
“Thank you young one, but just knowing that you heard me is enough. Please, all I ask is that you try to spread some more good will around. It’s easy to forget to spread kindness in this world.”
She releases your hoof and folds her sign, tucking it into her hooded sweatshirt, “Once again, thank you.”
She turns away and begins walking off.
