Nothing all that special about this picture. I just wanted to draw Dumbbell’s parents again. I slightly updated their looks. Well, the father more so. I wanted to give him a different mane style, a beard, and make him shorter than his lover, miss Snowy here. I don’t know why but I think I have a growing fixation for short stocky guys. (I also wanted to make him smaller because Hightide is also short.)
 
As a quick reminder of their characters, Bulkhead is a native of Caprona Island. He lives a poor yet happily satisfied life as a fisher-pony and kelp farmer (Over 20 different varieties!) and Snowy Farpeak is a pegasus noble from Canterlot. Her family holds a long line of renown in the royal guard. Faced with the unwanted yet imminent reality of an arranged marriage, Snowy literally “flew the coop”, leaving the mane-land far behind. She somehow finds herself working as a bounty hunter and muscle for hire for the next few years, but losing the trail of her latest quarry ends with her crash landing into the ocean right near Bulkhead’s fishing boat. Their relationship forms during her recuperation. Once healed, Snow decides she’d rather stay with Bulkhead then chase after anymore bandits, pirates, and murderers.
