This is a scene from my story, Insurgency: Fall of an empire, in which my mc, Moonlight Sonata is fished out of the wormwood Mudspring by Petal Dancer and Arctic Breeze. The mud is plastered to her coat and she remains this color for a while. It also means that no one can tell she’s a unicorn until the mud comes off since it has magical properties.
 
Arctic doesn’t have a cutiemark because I have yet to think of one. She’s an old mare who works as the towns nurse. She was out picking herbs with her ‘assistant’, Petal Dancer, when she saw somepony drowning in the mudspring. She is deeply concerned for the mysterious mare.
 
Petal Dancer is just happy to have met somepony new. She’s older than she looks but she is a teen so the prospect of a new face holds a lot of appeal to her. She is the daughter of a florist and has a lot to learn about the trade before she is to take over.
 
Moonlight is really confused and dizzy from nearly drowning in mud. She was kind of pissed since she was shoved off a cliff (pushed down a hill) into the mudspring but at least she isn’t dead. She will be very unhappy when she learns that the mud made her puke green and that she will be stuck like that for some time.
